One Sure Way To Live 100 Years

One Sure Way To Live 100 Years
The idea of living forever might seem like a fairytale -- especially in the 1800’s, where the average life expectancy was 35 years. But now people are living up to 80 years of age. So how far can we expect this trend to continue? Some researchers say that there's a limit on how many years a human being can live, the maximum being 125. That is only a few years short of the longest documented human lifespan. Jeanne Calment of France (1875–1997) lived to the age of 122 years. Nobody lives forever, and most fear dying too early. If you do get blessed with longevity, you hope to avoid sickness and disease. My goal is to be a centenarian. I want live to 100 with full vitality and vigor, have a huge party with all my community and family, and leave this world as painlessly as blowing out my birthday candles....

Top Health Trends 2016

Top Health Trends 2016
Every year we see people trying out new health and wellness trends in an effort to improve their lives, but there are always a few that make the headlines and change the way we look at health. If you're interested in trends capable of improving your health and wellness and are looking for new modalities to access your heart, here’s my list for 2016.   Travel Will Take On A New Meaning We used to travel across the world to feast on foreign food and drink enough alcohol for a lifetime, but there has been a massive shift towards health and wellness retreats. They're popping up on tropical islands all over the world, and they range from basic wellness centers to 5-star resorts. They offer everything wellness-related such as yoga, meditation, detoxing, and a whole host of other things.   Sensory Deprivation Tanks Although sensory deprivation tanks have been around for...

Chiropractic First Surgery Last

Chiropractic First Surgery Last
Low back pain is the second most cause of seeing a doctor. It also happens to be the second most common cause of disabilities in the US. Some of the causes of back pain injuries include lifting, pulling, or carrying heavy objects, twisting awkwardly, over stretching, sitting in a hunched position, slouching chairs among others. Those who sustain injuries while at work spend a lot of time looking for medication, making them lose many days, and consequently, they perform less. There are various methods that physicians employ to treat back pain from various medications to the most invasive surgery. There are several types of back surgery that are performed today, including a discectomy, foraminotomy, disk replacement, spinal fusion and even laminectomy. At times, surgery may be seen as the recommended course of action to take when it comes to relieving lower back pain. However, as an experienced Chiropractor, I will tell...

Your Cell Phone Has issues

Your Cell Phone Has issues
If someone told me that my cell phone was potentially causing grave harm to my health, I would have laughed. In this day and age, who doesn’t have a cell phone? How could something that has become a staple in today’s world cause harm as badly as cancer. Then I realized it was possible when I came across an article by the World Health Organization, classifying cell phone radiation a Class B carcinogen (likely to cause cancer in humans). Carcinogens are substances or factors that if exposed to, can lead to cancer, This action came in part to a response of the mounting research showing wireless telephones increase the risk for brain cancer.   Every single study of brain tumors that looks at ten or more years of use shows an increased risk of brain cancer. A recent study from Sweden is particularly frightening, suggesting that if you started using a...

A Winning Combination Of Chiropractic And Yoga

A Winning Combination Of Chiropractic And Yoga
The past few years have seen both yoga and chiropractic care become more popular in various parts of the world including the US. This has been attributed to the numerous health benefits the two practices offer to human health, both to the mind and body. Remarkably, yoga and chiropractic care share a lot in common which is why they complement each other quite seamlessly. If you’re a chiropractic patient, practicing yoga can be very rewarding when used to supplement your spinal care.   How a Combination of Yoga and Chiropractic Care Can Benefit You.Let’s admit it, you’ll hardly find a better tool than yoga when it comes to yielding physiological benefits for your body and mind. Indeed, the yoga poses (asanas) and breathing exercises (pranayama) serve as excellent therapeutic tools that help heal both your mind and body. Practicing yoga can also help to balance your body, lower your stress, and improve...
